Applying His Wisdom

In John 7:16 Jesus says, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me." Whether as a parent, coach, supervisor or friend, our lives are filled with opportunities to instruct others. As Christians, we should have confidence that the Bible has something to say about every aspect of life. The grid of scripture should be the filter through which we run all incoming and outgoing information. Marriage, parenting, relationships, work, coaching, training, financial management, government & conflict resolution are just some of the topics which are addressed by the wisdom found in the Bible.

If Jesus submitted Himself to the Father's instruction, it stands to reason that we who are His followers should so the same. By gathering & collating the wealth of knowledge found in the Bible and then applying His wisdom in a relevant and unobstructed manner, we will not only find ourselves well equipped to teach but, also unusually empowered and sent by God to do so. Live right, live well…

Relational Connectivity

Prov 20:5 says, "A plan in the heart of a man is like deep water, but a man of understanding draws it out." In Africa, where sometimes drought is common, water is mined by drilling "bore holes." These deep wells are sometimes thousands of feet beneath the surface. Obviously, it requires more than shovel and a strong back to tap into these reserves. It takes people who both know where the water is and how to get it out.

Deep within the soul of every person is the understanding that he/she has been put on the earth for a specific reason. That reason eludes most people and unfortunately, too many breathe their last breath still thirsting for their ultimate purpose; but it doesn't have to be that way. Relational connectivity is intended to be both a supply for friendship and a clarifier of destiny. We all need that person who sees the plan of God within us and possesses the requisite understanding to draw it out. If you are privileged to have someone like this, renew your interest for their input. If you lack this gift, pray and ask the Father to bring such a person into your life so you can live right and live well…
