Why My Mom Is Awesome

Moms are awesome because they don’t have just one love language. They nurture us with physical touch, they shower us with the gift of love, they give us their quality time when we need to talk, they serve us with the best food we’ve ever tasted and they always speak strong words of affirmation and encouragement that call us up to who we are in Christ.

My mom is awesome for more than one reason and love language but most of all, because of her acts of service. I remember she spent numerous hours driving me to dance classes and competitions, making costumes, doing my makeup, waiting backstage to help me do costume changes during recitals, cooking meals, helping me with my hair on the worst hair day, staying up late and getting up early to help me with that last minute science report.

Moms are awesome because of their threshold. Growing up in a family of five children, when the youngest was 3-years old and the oldest was about to graduate from high school, my mom kept our house running, made sure we were clean and that dinner was on the table for us every night. She kept her head up, remaining strong and pushing through by God’s supernatural energy. I have no idea how she did it.

My mom is awesome because she’s everything I hope to be as a mother to my children one day: a mighty woman of God and a role model.
