When His Glory Appears

by Brett Fuller on January 06, 2020

My mother used to wake me up every morning with the phrase, "Rise and shine!" She may not have known from whence it came, but it's a clipped paraphrase of Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you."

The glory of the Lord is the manifestation of His presence, and it appears when and where He wishes. Isaiah's encouragement to the people of Israel focuses on them being ready to properly respond when His glory appears. In effect he says, position yourself in such a way as to both receive and reflect God's glory.

Overall, how's your positioning? Do you find yourself in the places where God most often manifests Himself- church, prayer, bible study, missions’ trips, witnessing opportunities? If not, take heed to Isaiah's exhortation by, "(Rising) Going to the next level..." When you do, you will be amazed to see how fast God's glory meter will rise in your life. Live right, live well...
