When God says, "Well Done"

by on May 24, 2021

In Matthew 25:14-28 Jesus relates the story of a ruler who allocated sums of money to three men called to steward the resources in his absence. The first steward, who was given the most, wisely doubled his master’s deposit. The second steward was given about half as the first also doubled his deposit. However, the third steward, who was given the least, fearing the master's wrath if the money was lost, unwisely buried his resources in the dirt, bringing no gain to his superior.

To the first two stewards the master expressed his joy over their excellent stewardship by saying, "Well done... enter into the joy of your master." To the latter, he had only words of reproof.

In a world where success is too often dependent on someone else’s dutifulness, isn't it refreshing to know that God will judge you on the basis of what you did with what He gave you? No competition with others- just you, God and resources.

So today, if you take what you've got and make it grow, turn your ear toward the Spirit, 'cause when God says, "well done", 'He always speaks loud enough for you to hear. Live right, live well...
