The Love of God

There is a normal rhythm of life to which all of us have become accustomed. This “normal” is the bedrock of expectation upon which we build our everyday existence. We rely on it so much that when “normal” doesn’t happen, our equilibrium goes adrift. A car accident, disappointing results from medical tests, surprising tax increases seem to separate us from the moorings of expected daily living.

Realizing the instability of the world, God sent a word of encouragement through His servant Paul. In Rom 8:38-39 He said, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Paul understood life would be unpredictable and that feeling separated from normal would probably be normal. Yet, he also knew there was one thing from which we could never be separated—God’s love. Today, receive that from which you can never be removed and let God’s stabilizing love stabilize everything else. Live right, live well…
