The administration of God’s will is just about as important as its execution. As the Israelites were preparing to enter into the Promise Land, God told Moses to select men from every tribe to survey both the land’s fruitfulness the and fortifications of its inhabitants.
When the men returned, ten of them gave an unfavorable report directly to the people. A summary of their evaluation is found in, Num 13:31. They said, “…We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us." Only Joshua and Caleb were undaunted by the giants who dwelt therein or the strength of their citadels, but their report was drowned in the rising tide of unbelief with the result being: promise land acquisition denied.
It is not unusual to have differing reports from people who view the same scenario. However, it is unusual to have military commandoes not report directly to their superior before they report to the civilian population. If Moses had better administrated the reporting process, he may have been able to stave off the corporate panic that ensued. Today, try to lead right and lead well…
