The Benefit of Prayer

by Brett Fuller on October 01, 2018

In Matthew 6:9-10, Jesus says to pray this way, “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” We are called to help bring the kingdom of heaven on earth. However, we can't do it on our own. We need to ask the Father to help us make it happen. Of the many prescribed ways to see the kingdom manifest on earth, prayer was intended to be primary.

Once, one of my children was trying to vacuum the family room to bless their momma.  They were having a hard go of it because the room was large and vacuum cleaner was bigger than they were.  It wasn’t until they requested help from dad – did the job get done better and faster.

Most of the jobs God gives us are larger than us and the implements required to perform the task are not naturally manageable. The best administration, preaching, giving and witnessing are all important to bringing the God's kingdom to earth, but they can never substitute for requesting help from the Father to expedite the process. If we ask, He will always help us do His will better and faster. Live right, live well…
