Share the Gospel in Spite of Rejection

by Brett Fuller on September 18, 2017

Rejection is an unfortunate relational outcome. When the people in 1Samuel 8:5, cried out for a monarchial style of leadership, Samuel was crushed. Not since Joshua had there been a judge of integrity and power like him. The people’s desire to go a different direction sent him spiraling into a pit of rejection. God crashed Samuel’s pity party letting him know in 1 Sam 8:7, "…they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.”

When people reject God’s appointed they are not rejecting a man/woman, they are rejecting God. Jesus confirmed this by saying in Luke 10:16 “…the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me."

The responsibility of ministering the Gospel should not be hindered by people’s response, or our response to people’s response. Rejection of truth by those who need it most is not a personal snub of the messenger. It’s a direct shunning of the Father’s love.  So, rise above your personal pain and keep preaching so others might live right and live well…
