Right Living

by Brett Fuller on May 20, 2019

Right living is a primary evidence of a changed life. However, Jesus distinguished between the lifestyle of the religious leaders of his day and the abundant life which the Father had in mind. He said in Matthew 5:20 "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."

Christ was not advocating a works based salvation, He was just making the obvious known. The Pharisees and Scribes were self-righteous, uncaring & judgmental. Their "proper conduct" benefited none but them, and thereby was more of a mask for selfishness than an example of piety. If proper conduct only benefits the doer, it surely could not be inspired from the Father- for God is love & love gives!

Right living that surpasses the righteousness of the Pharisees, blesses someone else, echoes in heaven and to reciprocally stimulates the doer.

So today, take all your, prayer, bible reading, church commitment and purity, and make somebody else's world a better place in which to live. Live right, live well…
