Rejoice and Be Glad

by Brett Fuller on June 03, 2019

Cha-ching. That's the phonetic sound of an old cash register recording a profit. When the proprietor of an establishment heard that sound, joy filled his heart.

In Matthew 5:11-12 Jesus referred to a process by which rejoicing should come from the believer while profit comes to him as well. He said, "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12 "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great..."

Insults, persecution & slander are no fun to endure, especially when they come from would-be supporters. But Jesus said, a servant is not greater than his master, nor a student greater than his teacher. In essence, whatever they do to the leader they will do to the followers.

So, when you're slammed for your Christian stance, or when you hear horrible mistruths being said about you, make sure you also have one ear tuned to heaven's frequency- that way, you'll be able to experience the joy of hearing the "cha-ching" of eternal rewards being credited to your account. Live right, live well...
