Pursue Knowledge

by Brett Fuller on June 26, 2017

A man once said, “If you’re not growing, you’re dying.” I don’t know how true that is but I do know that it captures one’s attention.

The idea of growth is not intended to be confined to the physical. Spiritual maturity ought to be the never-ending quest of every Christian. In Peter’s second letter he concentrates on the topic of personal growth, ending his epistle by saying in 2Pet 3:18, “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ….”

As were all of the epistles, exhortations were inclusive of the church but directed toward the elders- men, who because of their maturity, were called to lead. So, Peter was telling the leaders of the church to keep growing. This loudly says that there is never a time when any of us can say, “I have arrived.”

The goal of our life should be to have as much of Jesus formed in us a possible. Let’s keep striving (Phil 3:12-15) to live right and live well…
