Minority Report

by Brett Fuller on August 31, 2020

In 2002 Stephen Spielberg directed a movie called the "Minority Report". It was a science fiction flick highlighting the ability of three psychics to foresee a crime before it happens. This foretelling allowed the perpetrator to be stopped before he transgressed.

To confirm a "pre-crime", two thirds of the muses had to "see" the same event. In the case where all three did not see the same pre-crime, the lone dissident opinion was called the "minority report". The movie plot turns when in one case the "minority report" was the correct report.

In Numbers 13 the children of Israel were on the border of the promised land. Moses decided to send twelve men in to check it out. Ten came back with discouraging reports of their ability to possess it. In contrast, the last two, Joshua & Caleb said in Numbers 14:8, "If the LORD is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us."

Joshua and Caleb's minority report was correct. The majority opinion may be carrying the moment, yet he who carries the Word of the Lord, will carry the day. Live right, live well...
