Finding God's Purpose for Your Life

In 1 Sam 9, Saul is looking for his father’s herd of donkeys. Donkeys represented the short distance relocation service. After searching for days without success, one of his servants suggests they go to the home of the national Judge/prophet, Samuel.

As they approach Samuel’s home, God speaks to Samuel and informs him that Saul is to be the first king of Israel. When Saul arrives, Samuel prophesies over him and anoints him as the nation’s first monarch. He also informs him that the donkeys for which he was searching have been found.

Wherever you are, you are looking for something. A spouse, a better job, good friends, financial security, health, educational achievement and entrepreneurial endeavors are all worthy pursuits. However, don’t get discouraged if your acquisition process takes longer than you anticipated. God might be allowing the object of your quest to stay lost long enough for you to find Him and His purpose for your life. So, search right, search well…
