Finding Courage to Cross Over

by Brett Fuller on February 22, 2021

Courage is a journey of boundaries crossed. Jonathan was the son of the first Israelite king. His people had been oppressed by foreign forces for decades and the Philistines were the latest community to strike fear into the heart of his nation.

Jonathan decides he is going to do something about it. In 1Samuel 14, he says to his armor bearer, "Come and let us cross over to the Philistines' garrison that is on the other side." Jonathan was going to start something. Whether victory or defeat was the outcome, he was going to start SOMTHIN'.

Crossing over, he and his battle companion vanquished twenty men inspiring God to affirm their victory with an earthquake which both scared the Philistines and inspired the Israelites. As a result of the courage of one man to "cross over" a great victory was wrought.

What boundaries are separating you from extraordinary success? Job security, fear of lack, the intimidation of the unknown? Develop courage, "cross over" to the enemy of your dreams and watch God empower you with the strength to vanquish your foes and inspire all those around you. Live right, live well...
