Effectively Navigating Others

Isaiah 58:12 speaks of believers who have a builder's mindset. When they see the "ruins" of a devastated life, they offer hope as they repair foundations, restore broken defenses and reconstruct the essentials.

The last thing Isaiah says these constructive believers will facilitate is the building of roads and their navigation. Why? Folks need to be able to easily move from where they are, to where they need to be. However, if people are already lost, being on a paved road doesn't help much. They need navigational assistance.

Spiritually speaking, lost people are lost because their "soul compass" is busted and their GPS system has no up-link. As leaders and builders, we are called to help MapQuest/navigate these direction challenged people to their destination.

So today, when you see another life ruined by sin, inspire them with hope. Help them build a great foundation. Seal the leaks in their defenses and navigate them from where they are to the secure promised land of God's will. Live right, live well...

Brett Fuller is the presiding Bishop of Every Nation’s family of churches in the metropolitan Washington DC area, that fall under the umbrella of the Grace Covenant Church’s purview. He also serves as Chaplain of the Washington Commanders. From 2005 to 2014 he served as Chaplain for the National Association of Basketball Coaches. In 2000, he initiated a bill in Congress to build a memorial honoring the African American Slaves who helped build America. Though the bill was never passed, he still hopes to complete the mission. He and his lovely wife of 36 years, Cynthia, frequently conduct marriage and family seminars. Brett also coordinates relational and professional development seminars, helping leaders in every walk of life to become better leaders. He and his bride reside in Chantilly, VA, have parented 7 children and have been blessed with 2 wonderful daughter in-laws. And most recently, they have welcomed their first grandchild; Ava Lily.
