Double Blessings

In Genesis 12:2 & 7, God told Abraham that he would bless him. Later in Genesis 22:17, after an extraordinary act of obedience in which he was willing to give his son back to God, the Lord said He would "greatly bless" him. The literal Hebrew verbiage used in this statement to Abraham says, "I will bless, bless you...". Why would God repeat His intent?
