Desiring the Pure Milk of the Word

1 Peter 2:1-2 says, "Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,  2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation..."   1. Wanting to be close the source of the food 
  2. Wanting to be embraced by the provider of the food
  3. Singularly & intensely focused on getting the food in their stomachs. 

Peter exhorts us to not be distracted from what's vital by being tempted to sin through evil speech or improper conduct. Instead he says we should, from the core of our being, desire to know what God has said. So today, instead of retreating to childish sinful behavior, become childlike and as a newborn yearns for milk, you live hungry. Live right, live well...
