Nehemiah was in charge of rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem; a gargantuan task considering it was about 12 miles of broken & burned rubble. On top of that, Nehemiah 4:10 records the attitude of the people saying, “Thus in Judah it was said, 'The strength of the burden bearers is failing, yet there is much rubbish; and we ourselves are unable to rebuild the wall.'"
Most people have experienced the pain of watching things they have built, or constructs in which they have trusted, be torn down. The resultant "debris" often prohibits building the next structure properly. The rubbish of old ideas, broken relationships and life disappointments must be removed before anything of permanence is built in our lives. If not, the foundation for the next structure rests on unstable material.
Today, will you let God begin take away the painful "debris" of your past so that He can build wonderful things that will last? Live right, live well...
