Building An Enduring Life of Quality

by Brett Fuller on July 05, 2021

In Matthew 7:24-28, Jesus contrasts two men by assessing how each responded to His teaching, using the metaphor of home construction to make His point. The first man, who both listened and put into practice what he heard, built a house on a solid foundation. The second listened, but did not through obedience, take time to prepare the foundation for his structure. When a storm arose both houses were buffeted, but only the house whose foundation was built on rock endured.

There are two realities among many in this world:

  1. We need shelter
  2. Storms are unalterable

The process of lifelong success cannot be short-cut. If building an enduring life of quality is the objective, we must listen to the words of Christ and obey what He says. Obedience to His Word will privilege us to be grateful for weathering inevitable storms.

So, since you must build something in which to live, and since the storms are coming, please build right and build well, so you can live right and live well...
