Build Your Home Wisely

by Brett Fuller on September 02, 2019

Making a house into a home is a project. One must paint, window dress, buy furniture and supply the atmosphere with a palpable undying love. To get it just right can take years.

Proverbs 14:1 says, “A wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.” There is something about the make-up of a woman that loves to transform four walls. This metamorphosis, in some way, links her soul to the physical structure. If she has to move, the detachment required generally “tears” more than “cuts”.

As it is physically, so it is spiritually. The relational cement to most homes is the woman. She builds the trusting environment in which everyone can grow. Her soul becomes so tied to her building that if someone departs from the blueprints, its “tears” more than “cuts.” Therefore, any woman, who intentionally damages her family, exhibits unusual foolishness for in so doing she injures her own soul.

Rejection, abuse, selfishness damage the soul making men and women demolition experts. Today, come to the cross. Let God heal your broken soul, so you can live right and live well…
