Be Anxious for Nothing

In Phil 4:6-7 Paul gives the cure for anxiety.  He says, “Beloved, be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, submit your requests to God and then the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Anxiety produces nothing. It only serves to amplify a fear of the worst possible scenario. It is the enemy of trust and the erroder of sanity. It’s insatiable appetite for dominance leaves no room for anything akin to hope. It hides under the veil of “care” and justifies existence by disguising itself in legitimate robes of, “concern.” In short, it is not to be entertained or tolerated.

So, beginning with the giving of thanks, let’s submit our requests to God and watch Him charge “peace” to be defender of our faith and the wet blanket to burning coals of fear. This course of action will help us live right and live well…
