Allowing Your Life to Influence Others

by Brett Fuller on April 22, 2019

When approaching the topic of religion, most people are usually reticent to speak of their "convictions." When pressed, one of the more common replies is, "My religion is a personal thing between me and God."

While a personal relationship with God is essential, Jesus seemed to have a different perspective on how His relationship with the Father should impact others. In John 17:19 He says, "For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth."

Christ plainly links His devotion to the Father, to other's well-being. Although His personal consecration to God still would have had eternal influence, He would not let His piety stand-alone while others lagged so far behind. While on earth, He intentionally used the strength of His union with the Father to unite other people to God.

Today, please follow Christ's example and let it be the compass that directs you. Allow your life to influence others to live right, live well...
