Samson was designated to be Israel’s deliverer for 20 years. He dismembered attacking lions with his bare hands. He vanquished one thousand soldiers with the jawbone of a donkey, and he carried a city gate weighing over five thousand pounds, three quarters of a mile uphill planting it on a ridge to let everyone know God possesses the gates of His enemies. He had no equal in strength, but where were his friends?
The Philistines hated him. In Judges 15 the Israelite rulers gave Samson over to the Philistines. His father-in-law thought so little of him that during a period when Samson was absent from his wife, he re-gave her hand in marriage to a companion. In his later days, his best option was the company of a deceitful woman named Delilah, who was his demise.
It is wonderful to do great things for God. It is better to do great things for God with others. Don’t arrive at the completion of your destiny alone. Learn from Samson and live right and live well…
