A Clear Conscience

When someone is about to pass from this world, often they rummage through their life in an attempt to find the things most important. Paul's search did not require extended seeking. When penning his thoughts he said in chapter 1:3, "I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did...        

A clear conscience reflects a forgiven man, of known flaws, who has presented those issues to His God and to the men who will help him navigate to best ends. A clear conscience allows a man to live at peace with himself and others. A clear conscience provides the most unobstructed conduit through which God can express His will to the world. Lastly, Paul communicates that a clear conscience can become a vehicle through which thanksgiving can be offered back to God.

May God give us the privilege of crossing life’s finish line while offering to Him thanksgiving for a conscience which He has enabled us to keep clean. Live right, live well...
