A Call to the Extraordinary

by Brett Fuller on December 16, 2019

In Luke 1, Mary has been visited by the angel Gabriel. She is to bear the Christ child, but this burden is too great to be born alone. Who could she tell? If she does tell, how does she say it, and if she does say it, who would believe her? Ah... Gabriel gave a clue as to who might have a sympathetic ear. He said in verse 36 "And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month."

Elizabeth proved to be a prophetic faith-filled refuge of encouragement and counsel. For three months, Mary could process how to tell her parents, her fiancé, and discuss in an empathetic environment, what the rest of her life would look like.

When God calls you to do the extraordinary, He usually will not call you to do it alone. So, listen carefully to the entirety of His message and find the one who will fill your heart with the faith necessary to both overcome the critics and accomplish His will in the earth. Live right, live well. Merry Christmas.
