UNFINISHED: 3 Days of Prayer & Fasting
September 2–4, 2026
As we celebrate 44 years of God's faithfulness, we invite you to join us for three days of prayer and fasting centered on this year's anniversary theme: Unfinished: God Is Still at Work.
Have you ever started something you never finished? Most of us have. But God doesn't.
Throughout history, God has been writing a story far bigger than any one lifetime. He is still transforming lives, building His Church, restoring families, and reaching our city with the hope of Jesus. The story isn't over—and neither is His work in us.
Over these three days, we'll humble ourselves before God through prayer and fasting, not simply because we're willing to go without food or other comforts, but because we are unwilling to go without His presence. Together we'll seek Him with grateful hearts for all He has done and expectant faith for all He will continue to do.
"I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
— Philippians 1:6

WHY WE FAST & PRAY
Why We Fast
Fasting is an ancient spiritual practice of intentionally setting aside food—or other comforts—for a time. It is not a way to earn God's favor, but a discipline that trains our hearts to depend on Him. Fasting helps break the hold of the flesh—our desires, sins, and distractions—and creates space to feast on God's presence.
"Fasting is a way to humble ourselves before God, to seek Him more earnestly, and to delight in Him above all else." — John Piper
Through fasting, we reorient our hearts toward God's Kingdom above our own comfort. We don't fast merely to get something from God—we fast because we long to be with God.
Why We Pray
Prayer is the heartbeat of intimacy with God. It is how we enter His presence, align our hearts with His will, and partner with what He is doing in the earth. Prayer shapes our vision, strengthens our faith, and reminds us that the God who began His work is faithful to finish it.
WHAT IS BIBLICAL FASTING?
Biblical fasting is a spiritual discipline designed to draw us closer to God. It is an intentional act of humbling ourselves, setting aside physical needs to focus on the spiritual, and seeking God's heart above all else (Matthew 6:16–18; Ezra 8:21).
TYPES OF FASTING
Complete Fast
Abstaining from all food (water only) for a set period of time.
Partial Fast
Limiting meals, following the Daniel Fast, or abstaining from certain foods.
Soul Fast
Setting aside media, social media, entertainment, or other distractions to create more space for prayer and God's Word.
We encourage you to prayerfully consider which form of fasting the Lord is leading you to during these three days.
ALL-CONGREGATIONAL NIGHT OF WORSHIP & PRAYER
Friday, September 4 | 7:00 PM | Chantilly Campus
As we conclude our three days of prayer and fasting and celebrate our 44th Anniversary, we'll gather as one church family for an evening of worship and prayer.
There is something powerful about coming together in one place to lift one voice in praise. Every song we sing and every prayer we pray is a declaration of faith that God is not finished. He is still moving, still building His Church, still transforming lives, and still at work among us.
Come expectant as we seek His presence, celebrate His faithfulness, and commit ourselves to the unfinished work He has called us to.
Grace Kids: Children's Ministry will be available for preschool children ages 2–5, opening at 6:45 PM. Older children are encouraged to join their families in the worship service.
