Please stand with my son's school in prayer. He is a student at Good Shepherd Christian Academy in Fairfax, VA. They are participating in the Kohl's cares contest that will reward the top 20 schools $500,000 each. We are currently at number 11! Please pray that we will win this contest so we can use the money to expand His kingdom and bring glory to God. Thank you so much!

This prayer request is for Cynt L. She went to the Dr. for a sinus infection and found out her blood count is extremely low. In a case as this, normally a blood transfusion is required. No transfusion has taken place, she is in the process of getting an abundant amount of rest and eating to increase her iron levels in her blood. Please pray for her strength and a normal range blood count.

I have a prayer request for my 6 month old nephew Isaiah. He had a lot of complications when he was born in February. Last Wednesday he was rushed to the hospital with a fever of 105.9. It's been down hill ever since. He's now on severe life support and Dr's say he has 24 hours to live if his body doesn't release the fluid in his body. I know we serve a Mighty God and if we all pray for his recovery it will be done. Please pray for him, it will only take a few minutes out of your day.

Please pray for my sister who has been in the hospital since Aug 02. She has Myasthenia Gravis and spinal stenosis. She is having her third surgery for the spinal stenosis at 8am Tuesday the 31st. It is complicated due to the Myasthenia Gravis. Please pray the surgery goes well and she makes it through. Pray that the recovery is swift and for peace throughout the process. I thank you in advance for the prayers.

Please ask God to let us rejoice with the healing of Craig J. who has had a bad set back after brain surgery last week. He was doing so well, then suffered a major seizure and is in ICU from possible bleeding in the brain. Let him know the healing powers of our Lord and please comfort his family and give them this knowledge and strength as well.

My sister Diane only a few months ago was diagnosed with cancer and had a double mast. plus is starting chemo. Today is her Birthday she is 56. I'm not sure of her belief anymore. Please pray for her and her daughters who all are not sure about God.

I would ask that you lift my father James up in prayer. He has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, however, the doctors can not determine the cause. He has been in and out of the hospital and has gradually gotten worse until now he can not eat or drink. I would ask for a breakthrough in healing and strength for my mother Patricia.

My sister's father-in-law, just had his bladder reomoved because of cancer. Since the surgery his bowel has been working and they are having difficulty solving this problem. He has a scope through his nose down to wherever it must go and they are keeping it there in case they need to use it again! He is very uncomfortable and discouraged. Please pray that his bowel recovers and starts to work... and that he is able to heal and go home soon.

Father the Overcoming Power of Your Spirit will rise on these Your Believers, this family. Your Son will visit, live with and shower His own with Himself! The fullness of the Godhead will come upon the leaders and those who run with You at Grace! Your giftings will draw people from every region and hundreds will become saved accepting your gift of Lordship & Salvation!!! We will come to see as our love for each other blooms and consumes this people we draw, that even those who've been coming to Grace for years but feel dry and have not known You as Lord will fall to their knees and come up new creations, cleansed and refreshed. Free from hindrances, strongholds that have held them for years. Now they will draw even more people from this area to a saving knowledge of Your Son. Father we pray for You to continue to unveil to Pastor Brett Your intentions. Throughout scripture You guide those You appointed as leaders. When You were ready to judge the world You used Noah. When You were ready to build a nation You came to Abraham. When You were ready to deliver the children of Israel You appeared to Moses. When You were ready to redeem a lost world thru Your Son, you used 12 men to accomplish Your purposes. (Amos3:7) Father thank You for allowing us to participate with You in what You are doing. Please Join with me in prayer that God will deliver the young man to the police who is serially attacking men from Michigan to Virginia. In particular he has attacked several African American men recently in the Leesburg area. Father, we bind the enemy who has bound this man and ask You to release your Spirit to loose his mind, stop his assaults, and heal him completely of his desire to kill. Father we pray this situation will cease before anyone else is hurt. Thank you again Father for your protection of our men, our husbands, our fathers, and our sons! In Jesus' Name, It is Done! Amen!

I am asking for prayer for Jeremy and Jan his wife. I met Jeremy on the bus back in July and we have become travel buddies. Each morning I have listened to Jeremy talk about his work and his family; Jeremy loves his family and is passionate about doing the right thing. Jeremy is a Veteran. His wife Jan is pregnant with their 2nd child and is experiencing some health issues. Despite this the couple is very excited about their new addition to the family. Jeremy on the other hand has been experiencing some challenges at work, that he has allowed to tamper with his self-confidence. He has been experiencing extreme stress and anxiety as a result of this situation. He fears he might lose his job and not be able to provide for his family, especially now that his wife may not be able to work for awhile. Please pray for this family for deliverance, wisdom and understanding and that their faith be strengthen through all of this.

My husband and I have tried doing it our way for far too long and it has not worked out. I know that we need the Lord to turn our finances around. This is my summer!! Due to prayer, faith, and God’s love for me, I have acquired the following things since the end of May….. June 7th -Brand New Car in my own name June 18th -Working three jobs by–each job well coordinated so that there was no scheduling conflict End of June- Enough money to move, with movers July 8th- A signed lease for a brand new apartment I continue to be amazed at how faithful God was to me. During the month of July, I continued to pray about finding better employment. I was frustrated because I was not hearing for employers regarding my resume. However, one of my part-time jobs offered me a full time position; working a different position within the agency. Again, I was amazed at how God had moved so strategically on my behalf. On July 26, 2010, I accepted the full time job offer from this agency. The income from my new employment shall be sufficient enough that working part-time anywhere else is my choice and not a necessity. Over this summer, I have completely relied on God to take care of me in all areas of my life. This summer has been a testament of how much God loves me, how much he listens, and how quickly and swiftly He moves. At this time, I truly believe I am where God wants me to be. With that in mind, I am so grateful. All I can pray is that I maintain on the path with Him allowing him to lead. Thank You Lord, you love me more than enough!

Pray for deliverance & healing For Reuben James. His sister is currently out of town and just called asking for us to pray for Reuben. He's currently in ER at INOVA Hospital on a respirator, been battling viral illness for a few months. We're asking God for his daughter to feel The Lord's comfort while she waits for family to arrive and for God's wisdom for the doctors in treating Reuben. Pray for swift and safe travels for his sister and husband to return to Northern Virginia.

Since I became a born again Christian I have seen miracles that come from Faith, Prayer and Trust in God. In losing everything that I valued- job, home, marriage, children, friends, I have gained. Indeed, by shedding all the things that would hold me back, and putting everything in His hands, He has restored what I lost, and is still providing more. I still have a loving and supportive relationship with my beloved children. I have a CHRIST centered marriage. Even without a job in over a year, God has shown me how to use the gifts and TURN STUMBLING BLOCKS INTO STEPPING STONES, and FULFILL what we are created to BE. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God...all else shall be added unto you."

I currently live in GA. My husband is currently attended school and will graduate in September with certification in welding. Due to a plant closure he has been unemployed for almost 2 years. We are contemplating a move to Northern VA, we have family who live there. This website is encouraging as we do not have a spiritual home. Moving is a tough decision. Virginia is expensive compared to where we are, but we want diveristy and opportunity. But most importantly we need to put God first. I must admit I believe we have given up finding God here. Yes we know he is omnipresenent, but our experiences here makes us more than cautious. Pray that we make the right step, we have 3 minor children. We need faith, strength, and courage. Thanks

This prayer request is for my brother, Christian. The judge has said that he wants to increase his sentence to 20 years. We are praying for mercy on my brother's sentence. We are also praying and asking for prayer for the judge's heart to become unhardened toward my brother. 20 years is too much. The sentencing is tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers.

Please pray for my mother Gayle, who has triple negative breast cancer, one of the worst types to have. She is currently undergoing 24 weeks of chemo, followed by radiation. As a young man who recently graduated from college, it is very hard to see my mother go through this. I want to request prayer support for financial direction. I am a single mother of a teenage boy. He is the joy of my life and I was recently told by an acquaintance that single parents are the strongest people he knows. I am starting to question that now. I know God doesn't give us more than we can handle but I am beginning to think my strength has run out and even simple tasks as getting out of bed are becoming more difficult. Right now I am struggling financially to pay rent and bills and would love some prayer and guidance as to what I am supposed to do. It is one thing to have to provide for yourself but when someone else is dependent upon you and you don't have the means, it can be very depressing. Thank you for the prayers in asking God to guide me and provide answers as I continue His journey.

This is a testimony about all that I am learning at GCC (including at my life group fellowships) and am able to give back to others! Jesus is our "life support" and I believe our "life groups" contain the people Jesus has allowed us to fellowship with so that we can encourage and provide support to one another in life. We talk a lot about hearing from God in our life group. Everyone there is well aware that we hear God through his word, through prayer and meditation, in dreams, in visions, and through other people. I work in Newington, Virginia which is about an hour (or more) from GCC depending on the time of day you are traveling. As I drove and prayed on my way in to Newington one day, I said aloud "Lord, I know there are people at my job who can benefit from knowing you and/or who can benefit from knowing you better. But how am I going to get them to GCC?" Many of my co-workers live in Maryland and some live as far as Fredericksburg. A couple of weeks passed and while at work, we (150+ employees) received an email explaining the Chief Operating Officer was visiting to share some news with us. They day of the meeting (6/22/10), we were told that our building was moving from Newington, Virginia to Chantilly (28 and 50)! There were gasps in the room and all I could think was, "Lord, there is my answer!" Everyone will have to pass GCC on the way to the new building and (like me) they will see the "Grace Covenant Church" sign from 28. I am certain that God speaks to us! In the time that this news was shared, two of my co-workers have visited GCC; one visited on 7/11 and one visited today (7/25/10). My first visitor lives in Fredericksburg (she is also one of the 5 people on my prayer list) and is now relocating to Ashburn! She had not been to church in years and last week she came to me and said she will attend again, even before she moves! The other young lady who visited immediately felt all of the love and sincerity of everyone she met. In addition, she saw Pastor Brett interacting with many of us and said, "Wow, the pastor comes out and interacts with people?" Thank you again GCC and Purcellville life group family (I'd never heard of Purcellville prior to my life group-LOL!) for teaching me about discipleship and for consistently equipping me to be a vessel for Christ!

I am new to the church and have recently, finally decided to commit myself to the Lord. Trying to live my "own" life has left me empty, confused, and going down many destructive paths in my life. At this point in my life I have numerous obstacles to overcome. I have 3 beautiful children, only my 12 yr old daughter has decided to give herself to the Lord. Please also pray for my other 2 boys ages 12 and 16 especially my older son who declares himself an atheist. His younger brother is being influenced by his belief. I pray that I can become a role model for my boys. Also I am having major health issues, please pray for my body to heal. I also have no vehicle at this time and since I can not work, affording a car is impossible. I pray somehow the Lord will provide for me and my children as there are many activities that they need to attend but are unable to do so because of the lack of transportation.

Robert (75 Years Old) has been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and they found two spots on his liver. He has started radiation treatments right away to stop the bleeding in his stomach from the mass. Which is what they have to do first to move forward with chemo. My father God has given him the strenghth to carry on. We know that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. Please pray.

I am a member in your church and last sunday I asked for prayer because I was without a job since january. My resources were gone and I was worried about how I was going to pay my rent and bills. After prayer, My sister in Christ told me that she felt in her heart that I will be working this week. I got called Monday for a job and I start wednsday. Praise God! God answers prayers!

My son, Christopher will have surgery tomorrow (Wed the 21st) morning. He just had a procedure last week for his stomach problems. This surgery is for his sinus problems. We are both a little anxious about what this entails. Please pray for peace and healing. Please pray for the surgeon who's performing the procedure. I would also like to ask for prayer for my sister. A very close friend of the family will have surgery on July 22. It’s a very serious procedure. I ask that you pray for the doctors who will perform the surgery and what needs to be removed will be done entirely and successfully. I also ask that you pray that his spirit be uplifted days leading to the surgery.
