Undetected Provision

by Brett Fuller on October 26, 2020

Ishmael was a young man in distress. Through jealous & spiteful behavior, he damaged provisional relationships and architected both his mother Hagar's & his eviction from their home. Journeying on their own, he and Hagar exhausted their provisions wandering in the wilderness. Dehydrated and despondent, Hagar abandons her 17 year old saying to God in Genesis 21:16, "Do not let me see the boy die."

As Ishmael cried out, God told Hagar in verses 17-19 to go back to her son, lift him up and hold him by the hand. As she obeyed, He then opened her eyes to see a previously undetectable well of water which saved their lives.

There are millions of young people who have been the author of their own demise. Their problems are so great and their cry so painful that it hurts us to be near them. Yet, instead of running away we must run to their cry, grab their hand, lift them up and believe for God to show us their previously undetected provision. Today, run to the cry. Live right, live well...
