Grace-Full!

The grace of God is so wonderful in its initial application to our lives that we can forget it is intended to help us mature, not just save. Personal growth is something that should never stop. We can always become more, and do better. Those who stop growing, stop becoming. Peter realized this and in 2Peter 3:18 he exhorted the church to, “…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Grace is God’s endowment through which we receive salvation (Tit 2:11, Eph 2:8), steadfastness (Rom 5:2), material supply (2Cor 9:8), influential speech (Col 4:6), strengthening (2Tim 2:2) and the commissioning to be sent (Eph 3:8). It is the ever-flowing pipeline that empowers our willingness to obey (1Cor 15:10) and it teaches us to deny ungodliness (Tit 2:11-12). In short, it is the gift that contains unending benefit.

Today, become both a more cognizant recipient and a skillful manager of God’s grace. If you do, you will help yourself and all those with whom you come in contact, live right and live well…”
