Confessing & Acknowledging Christ

by Brett Fuller on February 05, 2018

Just a few years ago everyone used to carry wallet photos of their family in order to proudly display them to others. Today, we show digital photos displayed on our phones.

It is generally normal for people to be proud of their nuclear family. Yet, many folks find it hard to joyfully talk about members of their spiritual family—namely our elder brother Jesus (Heb 2:11). In that regard it is important to note that Christ does not look favorably upon people (for whom He sacrificed both privilege and blood to redeem) who refuse to identify with Him. In fact, He says in Matt 10:32-33, “…everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”

So the next time you have an opportunity to brag on your family, pull out the verbal pictoral of what Jesus has done for you. Then, listen carefully, for you might hear Him enjoying good memories as He and the Father pour over pictures of you. Live right, live well…
