A Friend of God

by Brett Fuller on June 04, 2018

Abraham was a weighty dude. James 2:23 calls him a, “friend of God.” In Genesis 18, the Lord was on His way to visit Sodom and Gomorrah to see if the report that reached His ears was true- namely that inhospitality, immorality and greed were unchecked by conscience or law.

Abraham was sitting on his stoop when he sees God walk by. Surprised He’s in the neighborhood, Abraham runs to greet Him saying in verses 3-5, "If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by… 5 Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way…” God responds by saying. “Sure.”

Now, you know you’ve got some juice in the tank when you can influence the Lord to stop off and have a cup of coffee with you before He conducts His international affairs. Since God is no respecter of persons (Rom 2:10-11), why don’t you become His friend like Abraham. Try not to let Him pass you by. Live right, live well…
