Men's Ministry

aka "The Man Challenge"

It is our hope that every man who considers himself a part of GCC would serve in ministry AND develop meaningful relationships with other men. Our goal to equip every man to serve Christ, his family, church, and community. The Man Challenge exists on the worship team, in the A/V booth, in the decorating committee, children's ministry, youth ministry, campus minstry, etc. As you can see, The Man Challenge is more than a ministry, it's a lifestyle.

Who We Are - We call ourselves The Man Challenge for obvious reasons: it takes a real man to stand up under the pressures of this world and serve Christ with sincerity and integrity. We are joined together by our love for God and our passion to love, lead, and serve our families, our church, and our communities.

We define masculinity as starting from a spiritual origin and working itself out in our natural lives – the masculine man is marked by his faithfulness to God and his family and by the character that he displays as a result of God’s grace in his life.

Mission - Our mission is to advance the kingdom of heaven and grow and strengthen the local church through targeted and deliberate training and outreach to men of every demographic. We’re here to make disciples.

Methods - We believe in man training and gospel training through celebration of the sacred and the enjoyment of the absurd in proper balance while honoring the righteous and holy nature of God.

  • Man Training: With over 50% of young men growing up without a father, we seek to train young men how to do “man stuff” through athletic competitions, game nights, man-ceremonies, and fellowship. It's the simple things -- like how to respect authority, how to shake a hand, how to change your oil -- that is best picked up through living life together.
  • Gospel Training: While it’s important to train men in masculinity, if we are not first disciples of Jesus Christ, it’s all for naught.  Therefore we deliberately offer several different venues to study the word of God with other men who also seek to worship God in spirit and in truth.
