Numbers chapter 9 details the Israelites navigation in the wilderness using the “cloud” of the Lord’s presence. Verse 22 summarizes by saying, “Whether it was two days or a month or a year that the cloud lingered over the tabernacle… the sons of Israel remained camped and did not set out; but when it was lifted, they did set out.”
Today, we Christians do not follow a literal “cloud”, but we are to follow the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in John 16:13 that the Holy Ghost would lead us into all truth. Paul said in Rom 8:14 that those who are being led by the Spirit are sons of God.
Major decisions like an occupational relocation across country or a potential move from one church to another need Holy Spirit initiation/confirmation. How do we discern His leading? Well, if we remove our subjective voice by submitting to God and bathing the prospect in prayer and fasting… If we mine out related scriptural principles and flavor that insight with good contextual counsel from wise believers— we can be assured that the unveiled wisdom is the leading of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit, “don’t leave home with Him”. Leave right, leave well…
